Highest damage
Damage comes from the ammo caliber, not the gun itself. Guns of the same caliber
deal the same per-shot damage — they differ in fire rate, recoil, capacity and attachments.
Melee weapons, grenades, mines and utility items are counted separately and excluded here.
How damage works
The formula
Shot damage = caliber base × weapon multiplier × range falloff
Caliber base damage — every round type has a fixed base value. This is where the real damage comes from.
Weapon multiplier — a per-gun modifier; currently 1.0 for almost every weapon. Only worn/rusty variants are weaker.
Range falloff — damage stays at 100% to ~10 m, then drops with distance.
Armor penetration — separate per-caliber value; only a few rounds punch through heavy armor.
Damage values are relative game units, not literal HP.

Quick answers
Hardest-hitting gun? The Barrett M82A1 — 53 damage, roughly double the next tier, with heavy armor penetration.
Best all-round rifle caliber?7.62×54 (26) and 7.62×51 (25) hit hard and keep damage at range.
Do different guns in the same caliber hit differently? No — per-shot damage is identical.
5.45 or 5.56? Nearly identical (13 vs 14).
Shotgun damage? 4.5 per pellet — multiply by pellet count.
Worn/rusty weapons? Damaged variants deal 10–20% less damage.
Highest sustained DPS? Fast SMGs and the Kriss Vector lead on raw DPS, but lose damage quickly at range.
